His journey began in the Netherlands, the very heart of the energy and oil industry, with Rotterdam as the main hub. There he honed his technical skills in capital-intensive projects and developed a profound understanding of the importance of leadership, governance, and sustainability in achieving project success.
Later on, Bert undertook specific international expatriate assignments in countries including the USA, Canada, Germany, Belgium, India, and Austria. These gave him profound insights into interpersonal and cross-cultural cooperation and relations within project management.
Beyond his professional achievements, Bert is driven by a genuine desire to give something back to the industry that has been a big part of his life’s work.
